Force Using New API for Agent-Server Communication

Use this option if you want to force the agents to use the new enhanced API for Agent-Server communication.

From version 7.12 onward, this option is available when registering/unreistering Agents.

From version 7.13 onward, this option is available for all Agent-Server communication.

This is available from version 7.12 onwards.

Older Agents (before 7.12) will not be able to communicate with the server using this API.

In clean installations of version 7.12.0 (or later) for registration and versions 7.13 (or later) for all Agent-Server communication, this option is selected by default. Upon upgrading from earlier versions, this option is not selected by default and requires manual activation. If you want to upgrade your agents as well, first make sure this option is not selected, then upgrade the old agents, and only then activate this option.

For customers with Linux Agents, you must disable this option or the Agents will not be able to communicate.

Navigate to Configuration > Security & PrivacySecurity & Privacy and select the Security tab.

  1. In the Force Using New API for Agent-Server Communication area, do the following:

    To turn on the new secured API for Agent-Server communication (from version 7.13 only), check Force all agents to use the new API for Agent-Server communication. Click Update.
