Non-Interactive Programs Recording Policy

In addition to recording user activity in interactive shells, ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) enables you to record programs which are not interactive (such as, Web server, httpd, sshd, crond, etc.).

This feature is supported on Unix-based server policies only.

You should be aware that recording these non-interactive programs could cause a significant increase in the number of sessions.

In the ITM On-Prem Web Console, you can configure a non-interactive program recording policy manually per endpoint (Agent) from the Configuration > Endpoints page, or by using Recording Policies to configure many endpoints (Agents) simultaneously.

To configure a non-interactive program recording policy using Recording Policies

  1. In the ConfigurationEndpoint Management > Recording Policies page, click Create or select a server policy template (Unix-based policy).

  2. In the Non-Interactive Programs Recording Policy section of the Recording Policy Template page, select the Enable non-interactive programs recording check box.

  3. In the Programs field, enter the name of a non-interactive program that you want to include in your recording policy. Click the Add button.

  4. Repeat the above step for each program that you want to add.

You can remove programs from the list by selecting them and clicking the Remove button.

  5. When you have finished, click Save to save the changes.

Setting changes will take effect on new user sessions, after the current sessions are closed.
